Database Administration

This page is reserved for any administrative functions including upload of new DrugBank and DailyMed data. Loading the drug data only incldues two steps: upload of Drug Bank xml file and population of the database. Once the xml is loaded and the upload process started, each drug record is linked with other sources using a universal drug identifier.

Instructions and Information
Initiate a new Drug Bank upload using the form on the right. As soon as the task is started, the system goes through the following stages:
  1. UPLOADING — The initial state. In this step, all drug data is uploaded to the database. Note that new data is inserted while existing records will be updated.
  2. PROCESSING — After all drug data is uploaded, the labels of each drug record is retrieved from DailyMed (via a REST service) through a scheduled cron task. DrugBank and DailyMed records are matched using the UNII. DIKB data is processed and uploaded as a separate task.
  3. COMPLETED — When all of the labels from DailyMed are loaded into the database, the task is marked as complete.
When the upload is completed, the text mining scripts are started as a cron task.
